Hello dear friends,

In the spirit of support for today and days to come I felt called to share a short practice for you as a midday reset, yoga for the eyes and to relax the nervous system.

For so many- an emotionally charged day, where grief, anger, disappointment, heavy hearts, hurt, anxiety, fear and overwhelm may pervade our bodies, our thoughts, our emotions- It is a seated yoga practice in it's simplicity, and is a more of a subtle practice for respite.

Truly—if inward focus and softening doesn’t appeal to you or your nervous system at this moment, consider tabling this for another time. At times, yoga practices can be used to spiritually bi-pass, or dissociate from what's in front of us. And sometimes a good space for necessary respite. You maybe called to connect, diffuse or express in another way- dance, shake, scream, get it out on a page, connect with another or with nature for a walk or run. Nourish yourself. For the very real human struggles that we face, yoga doesn't extend resolution or absolution for ongoing injustice and pain. However, it does offer the possibility of returning within to a spirit of heart and resiliency—a place of inward kindness, Ahimsa, to land in and pull from within yourself- and the connection we have to each other aside from the stories and the struggles. To draw from inner resource to meet what is next. Perhaps, at least some respite to replenish.

May we each continue to do our part with the resources we have: to hold others when we have more to extend, and to grant ourselves permission to express and hold ourselves in compassion and strength.

Just as nature, we evolve and persevere as the weather changes. Just as those who came before and those who will follow. For both the passions, the hurts, and everything in between. Know you are not alone. May we continue to show up with compassion, perseverance, courage and steadiness. Love and light to you all.
