The middle path. What aligns, what harmonizes, what sustains.
February 26th, 2024
Hello Monday dear seekers,
Coming off my morning practice and in receiving yoga therapy, held in my spirit is the practice of walking the middle path in service to vitality. Brahmacharya as lifestyle. A path of giving up the immediate desires in service to your greater path. A path of spiritual maturity, requiring steadfastness, while at times mundane and challenging, offers deep respect toward oneself. It brings with it harmony, alignment, and sustainability toward what matters most in our lives.
This practice of nourishing our vitality, Brahmacharya, of non-excess draws in our discernment, between discipline and grace toward more contentment. Extending sustainable energy toward joys, to inspire the dream, the excitement and wonder, and to be with the heavy emotions, the bittersweet, the moments that are tearful, unjust, lingering and unresolved.
The middle path as practice gives opportunity for the challenging demands and energetic swings to be met with more agency and resiliency. And can be grief from the felt loss of letting go. Let’s not bypass this very important emotion. And too, the coping mechanisms we are drawn to for comfort, while perhaps less skillful don’t need to be met with harshness against ourselves for a lack of discipline. They are servicing unmet needs and likely had a lot of practice. Internal ‘shoulding’ does more harm than good.
The gift in this process and commitment is that your vitality then pours out through your contributions and connections with self and others.
Welcoming us steadiness. As the wave returns to ocean, as you work toward harmony in your life that aligns and sustains, as we transition from the winter winds to the earthy, wet spring, I’ll offer you my mantra with breath. As you inhale- Brighten your Resolve. As you exhale- Release Distraction. Kind focus in service to your potential, your dreams, your longings and joys.
May we choose what aligns, what harmonizes, what sustains. In love & light. -Maya
